Song of the Sausage Creature-I got my 900SS!
Went yesterday to snowy St. Louis to look at a 1993 900SS that I saw on Craigslist. The pictures in the ad didn't look too bad, but I was ready to be disappointed.
I got there and was blown away. The bike was in excellent condition. Came with high pipes and D&D mufflers. Still had the stock mufflers and an unmounted carbon fiber front fender. Complete took kit, owners manual, maintenance manual, even a parts manual! I'm the third owner. Previous owner had bike completely serviced last year. Bike has 13,000 miles on it and I plan on adding a few more. Loaded up and ready to head home. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1386546013.jpg Off loaded at home (the outside light doesn't to the red paint justice) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1386546046.jpg Ready for bed. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1386546058.jpg |

Very nice, and you rescued it from the snow. ;)

Congratulations - beautiful bike.
You realize, of course, that you have now become a Pelican cliche'. ;) |
Few pictures (literally) do the 900SS justice...again, congrats!

D&D doesn't mess around. I bet those pipes rattle the windows.

"Song of the Sausage Creature"? That is one very obscure reference. As it happens, I was Senior Editor at Cycle World when HST agreed to do the story that carried this title if we'd arrange for him to have an SS900 for a month and agree to send him a whole lotta money. We did and after a time, he submitted his story of that name to us on the proviso that it not be edited. Not touched. At all. We very happily - well, some of us had reservations - ran it just as he sent it. I've got a copy of the magazine around here somewhere. Trust me, it was vintage HST As I recall - and this was probably 1994 - a line or two of his that referred to a certain greatly revered religious personage in a less-than-reverent way got us a Dumpster-full of hate mail. And no, I'm not going to repeat the line onaccounta I don't need a Dumpster-full of hate mail.

Badass, love those bikes.
|
Wow. Beautiful. Congrats. Enjoy it in good health.

Neat bike, not being up on my older Ducatis I had to look this one up... around 80 HP and 450-some lbs wet? You're going to be wanting a 916 before you know it.
