Who knows Chrysler/MBZ transmissions in LA?

My brother wants to do a roadtrip up here to visit. He doesnt know the finer points of maintenance, so I suggest he have the transmission fluid and filter changed on his Dodge Magnum.

One of those Dodge/MBZ lifetime fill deals.

Anyone know a place in LA that can do this? Im sure its never been changed. Was my dad's old car.

Santa Clarita. Although i spoke to Chip at Two Brothers and he advised against changing the fluid. It's got 235,000 on it. He said that changing it is likely going to make it worse. He says as long as it isnt slipping, it's good.

I just hope it will last 2000 miles.

It's a hemi magnum with the 545rfe? Those transmissions are too tough. I've owned a few and they won't break! I changed fluid at 30k intervals. There are no adjustments but there are 2 filters and must use ATF+4. Anyone can do a pan drop. When the fluid hasn't been changed in a while or ever the trick is to slowly replace it all. So using a boat suction tool you can pull quarts out of the dipstick, refill, run through the gears for a couple minutes to blend, and then do it again. That will slowly replace almost all of the fluid after 3-4 drains. Then drop the pan and do the filters. I have done this on many automatics that have not seen regular maintenance and there have been no issues. Once I was done I usually put case or so fluid through it but everything was bright red when I was done. Of course all that fresh detergent could break loose things down the road so you could do another change after a couple thousand miles and hope to have it all cleaned out. Realistically he's gotten his money out of that transmission already.

Not a Hemi. It's the 3.5L. But it does have the Autostick.

According to Wikipedia, it's the W58580 or Mercedes 722.6.

The only other suggestion would be to rent a car. There's a used car/ rental place on Creekside in the. Valencia auto mall similar to Ugly Duckling/Rent A Wreck. Might find something cheap there.
