22 spoon food

bullets.com has SK Magazine in stock. SK Magazine is bulk packed (500 rounds per tube) lot over runs and seconds of Wolf, SK, and Lapua rimfire ammo. I'm working on my second tube now, ammo is very accurate.

(if Wayne starts sellign ammo I'll buy his and not put out posts about availability)

Is Wolf ammo dirty?
Have a case of 7.62x39 and some single boxes.

$48.95 for 500? Bass Pro is selling a 550 round box for $26.95 and I thought that was highway robbery.

SK ammo. Great stuff. I've been using SK Standard Plus. Only because the small bore rifle club next door to our pistol club buys it by the pallet load and hawks it cheaply to us guys.

A very small pop, but just enough to cycle the hand spoon and seems as good a group as I can get through the .22 rifle too.

The Wolf rimfire ammo is a different beast from the steel case centerfire stuff. Acutally made by Lapua under contract, and is almost match grade, same as the SK offerings.

Wolf MT is the same as SK Std+
Wolf ME is the same as SK Rifle Match

Both are very similar but not held to as high QA standards for consistency as Lapua Center-X

And all of it is covered with "Wolf snot" - a very liquid and slimy lube. When I'm shooting, I'll roll the rounds around on a shop rag to remove a lot of it. Still leaves a nasty feeling on your fingers.

While I like the bulk 550 packs for $25-30, they do not produce MOA or sub-MOA accuracy... for me in my guns. Some may prefer them. But this past weekend no one shooting the bulk bargain stuff was consistently hitting OTC meds or airsoft pellets at 50 yards

After hunting season is over we have access to the 200 yard range and we'll do golf balls at 75, 100, and 150 yards.

Sometimes I like a challenge so I'll try 'em at 100 with peep sights on my old Mossberg 44

For target .22 pistol my BIL turned me on to the cheap Walmart 550 round Federal in the red box. Money is not an issue to him yet after comparing lots of expensive match ammo, he found that the Federal red box produced just as good of results in his expensive target pistols.

My wife and I shot probably 10,000 of them through our slab sided SS Ruger Mark II and a Buckmark w/ bull barrel a couple winters ago into my bullet trap at 25'-40' practicing for a winter league. A good friend of mine thought I was full of crap until I got him to compare his favorite match CCI Select and Green tag to the Walmart stuff. He is an excellent .22 bulls-eye shooter and typically places first or second in the winter league he shoots on. At 25'-50' he could not find any difference in groupings between the two. (I am not that good at pistol bulls-eye and group quarter size at 25' while he consistently groups dime size or less at that distance with his tricked out Buckmark.) For pistols IMO, the Walmart Federal works great.

Too bad it has not been in stock for a year or so. I still probably have about 6000 rounds left, but that will not last long the next time I get on a shooting kick.

All that said, I do not doubt that results in a rifle at longer ranges are different. I will have to compare the walmart stuff with a rifle sometime against some .22 Aguila SuperExtra and some Wolf match stuff I have laying around.
