I was thinking that, but it's hard to imagine that any insurance company would allow a pilot to be paid piece work!

That's what I was thinking, the fuel costs for hot dogging it like that must add up along with the craft stress and maintenance.

Your Christmas Tree.....Look Like A Survivor Of World War III?

Using an ATV (or tractor) makes more sense to me.

I don't think the cockpit view is of the same runs as the foggy video. The weather is better. The swing doesn't seem nearly as dramatic etc. The cockpit view looks rather tame and I don't see the large pendulum situation going on. But the runs seem almost as fast. Just my observations.

Years ago when I was in the Navy, we did UNREP's all the time (Underway replenishment). A supply ship would pull next to us and we would steam side by side at about 10 knots in the open ocean. A helicopter (SH-60 usually) would ferry palates back and forth rapidly in the same way that the original video shows with a quick release mechanism. I was always amazed how fast the helo pilots could do this back and forth.

Some of those CH46 guys are pretty $h1t hot also. Pretty much standing them on the nose to accelerate then standing on the tail to stop.

I don't get it, don't have to. I am proud that our kids want to do this.
Not getting a Ranger tab is a big regret for me...you should be very proud.
