working hard at one of my jobs sites before the big dust cloud from demo.

Oops. Here you gohttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1386909877.jpg
doing what it does best, playing out in the woods in its element. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1386909934.jpg When that little guy and his little brother (not there yet) are old enough in a few years, I like to build an 80 with them. Hopefully there are nice ones left for us. |
There should be several, as the FZJ80 is a mall cruiser for most. They've never even seen the extremities.
Cool pic, great color on the FZJ. |
I had a 91 80. Very nice as mentioned above.
HOWEVER. READ THIS. There is an FJ80 in Portland Craigslist with a diesel and 4 spd for $6200 today. I would buy this in a second if my wife could tolerate another vehicle. Just thought I would tempt you. Larry |
Ad says "parts for the 3B diesel engine are readily available". Not for me, I'll stick with a 3FE.

I am sure the Toyota diesel is a great motor. Since I know that 12 V Cummins, I think I will stick that instead. Strong, stout, and doesn't drink too much fuel. Dreaming, of course.
|
It sounds like it needs parts, engine parts. Internal, external, I know not.

Love the Cruisers.
Day I brought it home--too bad I don't have any recent pics--I have cleaned it up nicely since this time: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1386952930.jpg |
Nice Cruiser Eric. Seeing your 62 makes me want to go whip my brothers ass in line. He hasn't driven his '90 in nearly 6 years. He's put more miles on the 80 in the last 4 years than I. However, I've racked up more miles on his 60 than he.

We have a 2005 with around 200K. It is getting cosmetically a bit rough from years of commuting and road tripping with the kids, but mechanically it drives like new and has never broken down or needed major unexpected repairs. Awesome vehicle.
|
My uncle had a '96 Lexus LX450 that finally kicked the bucket at 240K miles. I think he gave it to one of his employees who put a new engine in it and it's still going. I seem to remember it was thirsty and went through brakes pretty badly, but other than that he loved it. We'll see if his new 911 Turbo will last as long.
