Check out these custom lamps!!
My friend Kevin makes these custom lamps, pretty neat stuff. ...
He has these 3 along with some awesome custom ceiling fixtures, he says the ceiling ones are tricky to ship so he doesn't list them on his page......I see them as sort of steampunkish...... He can custom make anything, using different brand bottles and such... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1386906984.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1386907000.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1386907015.jpg Quality custom stuff.... I'll get some pics of some of the bigger pieces. .. Here is his etsy page.... Custom Lighting Designs by Industrio on Etsy |

love is in the eye of the beholder....fat chicks look great to some dudleys..dont know where to go with this green acres stuff....I think the the iron pipe is real clever...works with your typical basement motif..
|
Just make sure he doesn't quit his day job yet.
|
Well. .... considering how many he's sold over the past year I don't think he needs to worry about some occasional negative criticism.....
You know what they say. ..... lol |
Interesting work, I'm sure at the right place they would look fitting.
|
He has sold a bunch to some retro type bars and restraunts, old building type places...... he's working on one now using makers Mark bottles..... I'll post pics when he's done with it. .....

I think they are pretty cool!

No leg lamps?:p
I personally think they are pretty cool, and would fit in great at a hip restaurant or urban loft. In my traditional home not so much. |
I love the leg lamp..... Here's a flashback to 06

does your friend also work in profanities as others do with clays and oils?
|
Nottafinga!!!!!!!!
|
I like them!!
|
Those are cool, but would be a hard fit in my McHouse.
I'm envious of creative people. |
I think there is probably a market for those (warehouse style restaurant, art gallery) but I don't see them being a hit amoungst the general public and family homes.

You may suggest to your friend to lose the "leftover plumbing parts" look, and go with a "steampunk" look. Some of what you have posted would work fine in that genre if you just lose the galvanized pipe. Work with copper and brass, and work in some black and burgundy colors also.
If he is going to use galvanized, find a way to mute the shiny look. Age the pipe. Or paint the pipe. Or use black iron. Just don't let it look like anybody with a Lowes nearby could have cobbled it together. Make it art. |
