Another Walther spoon question (this time a P99)
So.... I have a Gen 1 P99 QPQ in 40 S&W. I was given some hand-loads from someone I trusted (you can see where this is going) and I think he must have double charged one. The extractor ruined and the polymer frame (the serial # part) was cracked rendering it unusable.
Here's the question. Do any of our firearm savvy Pelicans know if I can purchase a Gen 1 P99 in 9MM and use that frame in conjunction with the slide assembly, barrel and magazines to convert back and forth with my .40 S&W components? It's been my favorite pistol that I have ever owned, and I would love to be able to use it again.

Sorry that happened.
You could say you gun was over-proof tested. I wouldn't trust the barrel/slide, even though they may appear undamaged. They weren't designed for that kind of pressure. Wrap them up and give them to the reloader for Christmas, perhaps? Jim
