Yard size in Arizona kinda depends on where you live, and how long you've lived there. When my parents moved here in the 70's, you couldn't find a yard smaller than an acre (in a "nice" area of town). Today, most houses in Phoenix and Tucson are built right on top of each other to maximize profits for the builders. My house in Mesa was huge, but I could practically knock on my neighbors bathroom window from my bathroom window...lame. Down in Sierra Vista, we're still growing, so lots of 3-4 acre lots still available right outside of town.
