Too bad we won't see it racing here in the US.

Good idea!

It's probably mothballed over in Germany. Now that the 919 is out in the open, there is no more reason to hide the technology on the 2000 car.

So we should have it over here for the next Rennsport Reunion!

Since they've practically denied the car's existence for so long, we shouldn't expect to see it in public anytime soon. It would have been cool to roll out next year at LeMans in support of the 919, but think that they are concerned about detracting from the hybrid 919 message. I have to believe it will emerge at some point, but it may be a while.

Here are two other photos from a calendar published in Germany a few years ago - both from Mike's website as well:

I thought this car was the new LMP1 car for 2014, thought he had a typo. Oh well.

I maybe wrong here but I think the reason Porsche have denied and failed to show this race car is because Porsche had nothing to do with the design of it.

All the design/engineering work was done by a small but uber-secret UK motorsport design consultancy.

I had an interview with this company and during our chat they made a few claims which after a bit of research on my part convinced me the technical brains behind this still born LMP car were not from Porsche.
