Yeah, but the carjack in NJ by the four african americans that shot the guy (dead) in front of his wife just to take the Range Rover for a freakin joyride, no hate crime there.

Based on the text of the article, the crime was racially motivated, and that's not that hard to believe here in Texas. This is where the guy was behind a truck several years ago. And I've heard of small towns around here that are VERY unfriendly to minorities. I've actually heard some stories about places here in Texas and I'm Louisiana that should be shocking and unbelievable.

Based on the text of the article, it appears the guy wanted to see if playing the knockout game was a hate crime if you reversed the race of the participants. We have all seen dozens of video clips where a young black man, or group of young black men, cold cock a white man or woman, usually elderly. This is the first one where a hate crime was charged, to my knowledge. Coincidentally, this is the first one I have heard of where the perpetrator was white and the victim was black.

What an idiot...

Whatever the case is with previous attacks of this sort, its hardly surprising to see hate crime charges when the perp makes a video of himself clearly indicating that the attack was racially motivated...

Modern equality isn't so equal. Racially motivated is racially motivated, no matter the color of the instigator. Shame that the law and media don't see it that way.

If you research the Knockout Game, a BIG part of it is that they target older, WHITE people. They've made it known that's who their target is...so how is that not racially motivated?

And yes, the attack in question here DOES appear to be racially motivated, and should be charged as such, but that does not clear up why others aren't also facing the same charges.

The 27 year old hit and knocked out a 79 year old man! Black or white that is just wrong. His parents must be proud.

You need actual evidence, (what a concept), that a person's race/nationality/sexual orientation/etc. was the prime motivation for an assault to file the additional charge of Hate Crime on an attack. This usually, but not always, comes in the form of some type of admission from the genius who did the crime.

The fact that a perpetrator and victim are of different ethnicities by itself doesn't mean squat, except to the chattering heads on cable news and the internet. I'm not going to watch the disgusting video now that I know what's in it. :cool:

No, society doesn't, it's the extreme liberals who have to pick and chose who and what they go after to help make policy are to be blamed. Most of society does not tolerate this kind of behavior. I have said it before and I will say it again, you do not see this crap in areas like where I live. Why? because we are taught respect, and those who actually decide to try stuff like this get handled beyond the legal system. No big tough guy wants to earn the wrath of Grandma's switch, or the reminder from the peers that we don't tolerate this kind of thing.
Violence solves nothing but it is a valid reminder that wrong behavior will not be tolerated.
You want to beat on a old person, you will be beaten by a young one. Anybody can say this is wrong but the ones who do usually have never been a country person.

I've been accused of being "a liberal" here but I don't really qualify because if I saw a young person so much as disrespect an elderly person in public I would be in their face offering to bite their nose off.

Assaulting an old person? I don't even want to think of what I would do. I'd be heading to jail. :cool:
