Abu Dhabi 2014 F1
I just read Bernie is changing the rules so Abu Dhabi as the last race of the season will award double the points of the rest of the season to prevent someone (Vettel) from winning ahead of the end of the season.
![]() So how much did the oil sheiks fork over to be more important than say Monaco, or Montreal? Can we get rid of BE somehow?....

the double points idea is pretty lame, but at the end of the day, they are just trying to keep the race alive until the end of the season. They should just introduce success ballast and be done with it!
As an aside (sorry for the hijack), I've never understood the cries for Bernie's removal. He turned an otherwise questionable enterprise into a hugely profitable sporting empire. Every other non-spec racing series has come and gone during his tenure, largely due to the manufacturers squabbling over rules. He's had some missteps along the way, but it's hard to imagine how F1 would be any different than the rest without his cunning management.
