Pitt Grill
I lost an uncle this Christmas, a true stalwart in mine eyes. He, as was my grandfather, was in the restaurant business. If you have ever been in a pitt grill for a meal, you were in our family. I'm choked up, can't add much more. Rest in peace Uncle Bill.

Sounds like quite a man, Uncle Bill. My condolences.
If this is the Pitt Grill you wrote about, the menu in heaven just improved. ![]() Pitt Grill

That's it Paul. The restaurants started under my grand father after retiring as an executive for the Toddle House. He began his own and my uncle grew Pitt Grill from there to 181 diners across the southeastern states, which were all sold in 198x. Most of them eventually became the Kettle, some Waffle Houses.
One recent memory I have, was showing him how to cook a perfect piece of bacon in a microwave. He was very instrumental in how I became who I am today. Thanks guys.

Blessings to your uncle and family.
Pitt Grill Fine Food Grew up with one in Stephenville TX. It was the pefect place to go for a meal after a night out. My friend Chuck bought the one in Jacksboro from the Peacocks and changed the name to Village Kitchen. He's still making CFS there. |
