2013 was the year... (FITB)
What's the main thing 2013 will be remembered for in your life?
2013 was the year my daughter became a teenager and I finally became as annoying to her as I'd told her I would be since she was five. |
My daughter's boyfriend proposed to her and are now engaged. After 7 years of knowing each other since high school it is about time. Nice Christmas present.:)

The year that I decided that I was such a good boss that I should open my own business. I should have done this long ago.

2013 was the year that our daughter was born.
and the Red Sox won the World Series |
I lost my dad. He had a long good life.
|
I got canned from a job I hated and found a job I love within 30 days.
|
I made it through another year.
|
I learned about acute bronchitis for 2 lousy months.........and then learned how effective Z-pacs are!
Ahhhhh........ |
On the plus side, we'll remember 2013 as the year we drove from the Maritimes to Ontario to participate in the launch of my wife's third book, visited a brother and sister in Ontario and played tourist in the Saint Lawrence valley.
On the minus side, we lost my father in law to old age and cancer. Lost a good friend and co-worker to cancer. I'm really hoping for a better 2014, but tomorrow I'm playing at a friend's mother's funeral. All the best in 2014. Les |
In April, my co-worker and I bought the repair biz from my old boss of 10 years upon his retirement, and currently I have more work than I know what to do with.
|
We lost my mother-in-law, our daughter graduated from high school, father-in-law had his 2nd knee replaced... Life goes on and we roll with the punches...

What books has your wife had published? Good work! G. |
I completed my studies and earned an MBA degree in July. I went through a concentrated program through work while working full time, and managed straight A's from start to end.
From July through December, I spent my time getting my life back! (spent time with family, friends, and doing new and old hobbies) -Z |
My first international work trips: Australia, India, and France.

My mom passed away a the beginning of the year... a sign of things to come...:(
My best friend and mentor passed away a month later. Two other people I knew passed away. A dog I did not want was brought home (nice dog, but a major PITA) A new, expensive guitar was damaged by said dog. GF's truck was stolen from our driveway. Major screw-ups by various suppliers I had to move for the third time since 2009... I'm really hard-pressed to think of anything that actually went well. Except getting a milling machine. Ok, there's one thing that went well. :D |

The Latch (Brun Creek Books) a fictional account of Acadian life in Acadia circa 1750, intended for gr 6 readers, Animal Talk (Nimbus Books) true stories of animals which communicated with owners or other animals in significant ways (think: dog barking to wake up and save family in a fire) and Oatcakes And Courage (Quattro Books) an historical novel about the voyage of the Hector to Nova Scotia from Scotland. She taught Gr 6 for many years and aims much of her stuff at that age group. I find it interesting that over a hundred copies of The Latch have been sold in AB. Must be the ex-Maritimers. Stay warm. My brother near Kitscoty says its acting like winter out there! Best Les |
