I normally wear shorts and a t-shirt under my Carhart coveralls for snow duty. That's why I bought them: I can normally roll out of bed, through them on, and take care of the driveway. I often don't bother with a hat and wear thin gloves when it is over 20º they are so warm.

Today I wore sweat pants, a t-shirt, and a sweater under my coveralls. On my hands I wore my thickest lamb-skin/wool work gloves. On my head I had a foam rubber face mask, a fleece balaclava, a very thick knit hat, and ski googles. I had no exposed skin.

I hate to post info from actual climate scientists and ruin everyone's fairy tales, so please do NOT read this:

Global warming means more snowstorms: scientists

Went for a run in shorts and T-shirt today. SF Bay Area ...

I will probably never move back to the snow. At least not if I still have to go to work in it.

Many uniformed people still don't seem to realize that Global Warming will cause COLDER temps..

The main problem with this degree of frigid weather is that the people around here are not used to it so they do not prepare properly for being outside for even brief periods. This means making certain their vehicle is ready - gas, survival pack, good battery, etc. as well as dressing appropriately. Too many assume their regular cold weather routine/apparel will serve. Most vehicles here do not have block heaters which in this weather would be very useful.

Monday morning -14 as I left for work at 645. Still -14 when I went to another site at 930 and when I left for home at 1730. Now it's -17. Normal high around 25 and low around 10. Hasn't been this cold since 1996.

The weather is rotten around here. Disgusting even.

Even worse earlier in the day.

Wow... due to the high winds, drifting in the outlying areas and -16 temps, most businesses are remaining closed again today. Two snow days in a row!!! Luckily power has stayed on and I get another quality day working on the race car project out in the shop.

Supposedly the company I work for now has not done anything like this since the blizzard of '78.

While the temps are frigid the wind just makes it brutal. I have plenty of outdoor work clothes to keep the majority of my body warm, but after a while out plowing, my goggles or my helmet shield fogs then I have to go without which results in my eyelashes freezing shut when I blink. If I had to deal with these conditions all winter long, I would likely look into a heated shield or goggles.

I expect carefuly clipped statistics that do not show that the temperature cycles anyway despite man made CO2 from industry being around or not...

Cycle shows it gets nice and toasty, then freezes over, slowly rises for a long period of time, gets to a decent temp, then rises quickly, freezes over, rinse repeat...

While I'm fine with reducing C01 emmissions, I laugh when the so called "green" movement talks about reducing C02, don't they know that without C02, the rain forests go away...

A little fun with statistics. :)

So scientists who were wrong in the 70s about global cooling are now suddenly right about AGW?

Amazing how some supposedly educated people can't recognize CYA tomfoolery cloaked as science when it's directly in front of them.

Please.. try shoveling a driveway so you can fix the power steering line on your father in laws van in -40 weather.

What a bunch of pansies. Last month I was in Colorado, -15F for four days......I drove to Vail to ski. Didn't hear any *****ing from me....

Cause you went to vist the cold, not the cold coming to visit you. There is a difference!

Got down to a bone chilling 20 degrees last night. :) Thankfully we have a rather large body of water to our east to help moderate temps.

I don't think that's up for debate RWebb... No one is aguring that change in the climate will cause change in the climate. However the debate? What is the cause?

Where the "climate change" lobby seems to fall short is this...

1. Any evidence that man is causing significant climate change. The earth goes through many temperature variations.
2. Constant discrediting because of faked results, massaged "estimates", and general lack of scientific method.
3. Consistent failure of predictions as well as using uninformed and unscientific poster children (ie Hollywood Actors) to constantly berate people with pseudo-facts to support the cause.

Frankly I'm not convinced because I see widespread fraud in the climate change camp, and I assume there's a reason for that fraudulent behavior.

Remember the holes in the ozone? Turned out that there were bigger ones in the past? Higher CO2 levels? Same thing...

Where you need to do some convincing is that this isn't just a blip in the radar of millions of years of earth history....
