BMW 1976 2002 in Austin, TX

New listing on Pelican: 1976 2002 Jade Green, FS or Trade Rust Free, Austin TX

Here's a link to several pics: http://sdrv.ms/KRI4nQ

Considering as an Auto-x toy, etc. Anyone in Austin with the bandwidth to put an eyeball on it? Also, possibly recommend a PPI location?

Thanks,

Mike

Ambitious in that it's too high, or too low?

Hmmm, I don't think that price is out of line for that car. If it was a round tail light car in identical condition, it would easily be double.

I'm not crazy about the last few years of the 2002 but when it comes to value on something this old, it's condition squared. It looks like a very nice car in possibly the best color.

That is a good fair price for a car that clean. 76 isn't the most popular year, but it is the last year of production. The chassis is very straight looking and except for some surface rust one of the cleanest I've seen for $6k. Interior seems to have all it's parts; a little where and tear on the seats, but the rest is great for a 76.

If they have lots of records to go with the car, a recent clutch, brake work & newish exhaust that should get you down the road, so get a deposit on it!!

I'd buy that in a minute if it were close to me. I'd like to put an LS1 into one of these and daily drive it!

The Hagerty Price Guide Support is a good indicator of relative value.

I know it isn't the be all of guides, but it is useful as a starting point.

Can anyone recommend a shop in Austin for a PPI?

Price seems right...but would prefer to get a once-over first.

Thanks,

Certainly a nice car...great platform for resto, and the best year. Have had a possible career change opportunity pop up that's put this endeavor on the back burner for me. But thanks for passing it along. Received a pm from another inmate with the same link recently.
