I was thinking of a thread like this the other day. I bet there is a fair amount of crossover.

I'm a new dad too, so finding time for my hobbies has been challenging with our short winter days in Seattle.

In no particular order.
1. My house
2. Bowling
3. 911
4. My turntable and stereo

sc_rufctr 01-20-2014 12:41 AM

1. My kids
2. My house
3. My Porsche
4. My photography

Trying to make everybody happy, or at least make sure nobody's angry at me.

Perfection!

Some great stuff in here!

Mine would be:

1. My wife
2. Firearms
3. Porsches
4. Whatever other car related flavors I can find. I'm a fan of many marquees.

family first, everything else is a distant second

my obsessions at the moment are,

weight saving on my 964 project without spending money
compiling a list of race finishes of cars I have worked on
waiting for snow and snowboarding when there is snow
my house in the mountains in Slovenia
visiting new countries and places
collecting models of cars I have worked on
searching and buying Porsche spares
not wasting my money and living within my means

a boring list with no big ticket items but all of them make me happy :)

GH85Carrera 01-20-2014 04:49 AM

Back what I was single and younger I made a list of my hobbies. I came up with 17 hobbies or activities I liked.

I waited for the perfect weather day on a Saturday and managed to spend some time doing all of them. I was exhausted but happy that day.

Some of them off the top of my head in no particular order:

Model Airplanes
Frisbee Golf
Firearms
Brewing Beer
Growing Roses (I had 18 roses bushes at the time)
Chasing women
Autocrossing in my Porsche
Tinkering with cars
Coin Collecting
Photography
Building computers
Reading (mostly Science Fiction)
And several others. Some of them have been curtailed since getting married. My wife does not let me chase women anymore.

I never got into golf or boating. I have not been camping since I was a boy scout.

VINMAN 01-20-2014 05:03 AM

Family and the like is obvious, so wont even count that.

The only things that I would really call my "obsession" are:

Boats, the sea. Pretty much anything nautical related.

My mains "interests" are

Offshore powerboat racing.
American muscle cars and old trucks.
Trains.
Most outdoor activities (fishing, camping, hiking, surfing, etc etc...)
