Good point.

Which is why some don't like Fuchs on 356's (I'm with them on that).

Not sure of the exact years of the phone dial, but they are definitely a later wheel, silver paint, matching the era again. They also never had a deep dish lip. IMHO they are just ugly on any car, but definitely go for it for snow tires or track wheels! :)

There are people wanting to bring back the phone dial in a modern size! :D

I dig the Turbo II's as well. Much cheaper option, because they put them on tons of different models. Lots of them floating around.

To be fair, that is for the 928, pictured below off the link above.

Other options just were not as appealing apparently.

The Carrera Sport may actually be my favorite 997 wheel, especially with the contrasting center section. I wish they made them in 18", I don't want to go 19" on my 996.

Are Carrera Sport's considered an updated Minilite?

There are definitely some similarities. Not surprising I also love the Minilite on an early car.

Again to my eyes, the Minilites have that tough hunk of metal look, while the updated wheel is daintier and more open, elongated.

Do it. Those wheels are the same $ as Zuffenhaus Fuchs less tires.

Fuchs look good on ANYTHING!

Agree. They're uglier than a rotting tree stump. I'd rather have dog dish hub caps and raised white letter tires.

These are also my fav on a new Porsche

I REALLY like those HRE wheels ^^^^.

I can't see dropping $1900 per wheel for them though.

onewhippedpuppy 01-28-2014 10:53 AM

I hate the PS Autoart Fuchs. The new Porsche Fuchs are more of a tribute, whereas the PS ones are just a ripoff.

Sorry, a big no for the PS autoart Fuchs. Unless you're going for a deliberately cartoonish look.

The HRE's look the business, though. Too bad you're pushing $6-8K for a set (sans tires).

Yep. The Club Sport wheels made for the limited edition Porsche Club 997 were nice too.

They look fantastic, but I can't justify spending car money on a set of wheels. Especially when there are some excellent forged lightweight wheels available for 1/4 of the price.
