Nice looking too...

Being a quartz, and from the Tag era, it should not be worth much.

heuer has value when automatic, and pre-tag.

HHI944 01-26-2014 02:00 PM

Cool watch, the early quartz Tags aren't really worth much, unless there's something truly significant about that model it's probably worth about 300, maybe 350...

DARISC 01-26-2014 02:28 PM

The watch is a Heuer, sold prior to the beginning of TAG Heuer. Heuers are very collectible. Am guessing that Heuer quartz watch is worth more than a TAG Heuer quartz.

TAG = Techniques d'Avant-Garde (TAG Heuer)

HHI944 01-26-2014 02:33 PM

Shoot, can't believe I missed that it wasn't Tag....very cool!

mikesride 01-26-2014 02:43 PM

Probably worthless Joe Bob......Out of pity sake more than anything I will give you say....$50.00 for the thing?;)

HHI944 01-26-2014 03:19 PM

delayed double post.....wtf.....

silverc4s 01-26-2014 04:28 PM

I have almost that exact watch, but it is branded as a TAG Heuer. I bought it new in the 80s and wore it so much that I wore out one band. Recently purchased another thru my Jeweller, and still enjoy wearing this watch very much. Worth way more than $300 to me, for sure.

Noah930 01-26-2014 04:32 PM

It's an early TAG-Heuer. Maybe mid- to early-80s?

The bracelet clasp has the full TAG-Heuer shield. The crown has just the Heuer part of the shield (no TAG) just like depicted on the watch face. I have a TAG-Heuer Formula 1 I purchased back in 1989 with those markings. Modern TAG-Heuers have the full TAG-Heuer shield on the crown and clasp (with stampings on the clasp to mimic a continuation of the bracelet links). I could be wrong, but I don't remember the model depicted in the OP's post from being on sale at that time, which is why I'm guessing a model older than what I have.

As long as we're talking watches ...... (hijack in progress) ......

I was given a watch about 28 years ago as a gift and i've worn it maybe 10 times since new. Not really my style.
It sits in a drawer and i take it out every 5 years and get a new battery put in it. the guy says, pull the spindle thing out and it won't kill the battery. but I always forget. Anywho its a seiko lassale quartz gold over stainless, slimline.
Looks like the pics below.
I'm guessing it's worth a couple $hundred tops. too high, too low?

If I needed to arrive at the lottery office at a precise time to claim my fortune and that watch was the only timepiece available I'd check the position of the sun in the sky and take my chances.

That may be the funniest post of the year! I actually have an old LaSalle in the drawer as well. Not proud of it!

I love my Seiko automatics... but sorry Sammy, Seiko's don't get much love in watch geek land... particularly a quartz... and double down on gold over silver.

It is a shame because the Japanese DO make some very cool/tough/reliable watches.

Joe Bob 01-29-2014 04:41 PM

Hey Sammy, does it come with a rainbow sticker and a Miata?

Seiko mechanical Divers rule. Mech Seikos and the 'Grand Seikos' do get a lot of love in watch land. But sadly, its a brand driven business, except for the geeks.

OP, very early TAGs were branded Heuer, after TAG acquired the name. Heuer, a fine old House, was a victim of the Japanese quartz invasion. TAG bought the name in 85 or 86- ive got a quartz TAG Heuer I bought in Singapore in 86- so yours must be a very early one, carrying the "Heuer" name. That's its main point of interest Im afraid.

mikesride 01-29-2014 05:31 PM

I like Sammy's watch....Todays trend of gigantic " I'm a Douchebag " watches drives me nuts!!!!

MBAtarga 01-29-2014 05:49 PM

Ha! I drooled over the leather band version of that Lassale thirty years ago! That watch is probably about 2mm thick - the pictures don't do it justice. My girlfriend at the time (now my wife!) bought me the similar looking but less expensive look-alike version of that style made by Seiko.
