Is porsche obsession a mental illness...

I might be posting in the wrong area but I got to thinking about it and I think maybe I should see a shrink. I think about 911's at least 15 - 20% of every day ... only to be compared with the natural male imperative to think about ... I am wondering how many who post here face the same pressing thoughts. It is almost like the add that cracks me up every time I see it in excellence... a gorgeous blond is walking on the beach... one guy is thinking date, one guy is thinking marriage, the other is to busy thinking about his car depending on what modification I am pondering at the time I could be guy #1 (except I am married but I would admire) or 3...

Just a ramble... curious on the obsession level of others ...

Its bad. Its like the plague. It gets worse as you get older. You start forgetting things except for the Porsche stuff. Forget about seeing a shrink. They probably are driving one too.

The only friends I have left own Porsche cars.

To hell with those other jerks!

I mean, damit, why are any other cars built, anyway.

But I could stop any time I want. *starts sobing*

wait till you hit critical mass and end up in OT because you don't have any cash left for hitting the pub.... and before you know it your post count explodes and the level of sensible talk becomes unmeasurably low..and the only thing that dictates your planning is buying Porsches, selling Porsches, or buying or selling Parts for them...

ask me how i know...

this is starting to get good. i never dream about my p-car(polybronze bushings-cab parts-tranny mounts), i mean never.......(pull wheels off duck tape weights-pressure wash crud off while in there), i can carry on a perfectly normal(soak hell out of dash w/lexol so summer heat doesnt crack) conversation. i really dont(wire hellas up-mt switch-get oem hood painted) daydream much about it at all. my relationships(check tire pressure-put charger on-change oil/filter) dont really suffer because i dont see many people nowadays(vacum recaros-tighten mirrors-get 964 smiley installed) because i dont have (fix paint drip rally pod-install heater/vent control in dash due to oem being cracked-install volt gauge-monoballs) any money any more because im always busy(clean garage out-polish fuchs-tighten engine sheet metal bolt) working on my PORSCHE!

thats less than 8 hrs worth while i slept! its like having another kid..........!

Yep, it's a mental condition that has no cure. The only treatment is more Porsches (and more cowbell!)...

Why am I on Pelican 3 or more times per day? My car is 22 years old, nothing new has been invented for it since I checked 2 hours ago.

Could be the illness. ...........
However, I think it is the cure for basic depression (boredom of look alike computer designed cars, noncommunicative chassis, engines that make no cool sounds.) Then all we need is more horsepower and heck, it is a lot cheaper than a shrink!

Illness???

I'm not so sure.

My car has been in the bodyShop since December 5 and I'm picking it up today!.

I went to bed last night with my Haynes manual reading about changing the 2 watt lightbulbs in the dash and modifying my H4s to add City Lights. I could have cared less to make band practice last night and I havn't even dusted off my snowboard for a trip to the mountains with the kids this weekend.

All I care is that I'm picking up my 69 today.

I have heard there is a 12 step process, but you cant start the process until you have hit rock bottom..... when you sleep next to the car in the garage.

NOTE: Sleeping in the garage because your wife banished you there doesn't count

Mine is 23 months and all he says to me is "Pisha car" without any prompting. Maybe I have a problem. But he can tell the difference between the Fun Pisha Car (911) and the other one.

Perhaps you have it backwards. We are the sane ones and everybody else is mentally ill.
