The Broncos
Will Win the SB (2/2/14)
Why? 1. The Bronc's play like a precision machine. a. To get to the SB they had to beat the Pat's which also play like a precision machine (wt a Hall of Fame QB) b. Manning (also HOF) is playing very well, and is motivated 2. The Sea Hawks played sloppy in their victory over the Niner's a. The hallmark of that Conference Champ game was sloppiness on both parties part b. The SH"s rely on their QB to make running plays, and sooner or later the guy is going to get squashed. Many times the only reason why their broken plays succeed is because their QB makes a running play. c. The Sherman controversy has a net negative effect on the psych of the SH's. 3. The MOJO is on the side of the Bronc's, because they are playing for their Coach who has been sick......emotionally high motivation to play beyond themselves a. Several years back I said Saints over Colts in the SB for the same reason the MOJO was on the side of the Saints because they were playing for a Katrina beaten up NO's. This now applies to the Bronc's That is the line and how one see's it...

I don't agree with 1.a. Brady wouldn't be dot on the map if it wasn't for the foot of Adam Vinatieri.

^ C'mon, don't sugar-coat it; surely you have an opinion one way or the other?
![]() (Imagine my discomfiture and abashment when, as a Raider fan, ((back in the day, I rarely watch pro football anymore)) Lyle Alzado came over from the hated Broncos, and became a big part of the Raiders mystique.) Frankly, I don't care who wins this SB, I like Peyton just fine, and I think he should have as many rings as his brother, but living this close to Seattle, I'd wouldn't mind seeing the 'hawks win, in spite of how I feel about Pete Carroll.

Seattle won only because SF also made many mistakes. Seattle has shown it can play poorly in critical games. I just hope The Simpson's are right. 19-14 would be perfect.

I agree, biases aside. I watched both championships (AFC/NFC). The Broncos/Pats looked like two teams at the top of their game, playing like professionals. The Seahawks/Niners looked like two disorganized high school teams playing each other.
I'd guess Denver by 10.

I'm pulling for the Broncos mostly because of Payton. He's had a hell of a year for a man his age.

The Hawks have shown the capacity to win ugly more than once this season. Good defensive teams excel at that.
If the Broncos can run the ball successfully they will win. I doubt they can if they remain a one dimensional offense.

TABS's CREDIBILITY is ZERO.
So much for the "precision" of the Bronc's. They played like a they had a foot on their throats...The Bronc's were in the game until the opening snap of the game ...Then it ALL went down hill from there. Now we know why the Niner's looked sloppy, SH's were just that good..

That bad snap and safety rattled them. Then Seattle landed a few more punches quickly and Denver was in panic mode the rest of the first half.
Maybe Denver could have regrouped at halftime, but when Seattle ran the first kickoff of the second half in for a touchdown, all denver game plans were out the window. It reminds me of my all time favorite quote from an athlete. When someone asked Mike Tyson (in his prime) whether or not his opponents watched films, studied him and put together a game plan to fight him, he said "Yeah, they all have plans. Until I punch them in the face." |

The conventional wisdom was the Colts over the Saints...Just like alot of people said the Bronc's. It was more like SH's by 35....that musta blew off the over an under.
The game was a snore fest....there was more chew in my ribs than that game...The best thing was the commercials.. especially the Dylan and the doggy ones.... End of story...

In retrospect, the Niners looked pretty darn good. Clearly the second best team in the NFL. The real super bowl took place two weeks ago.
