Not a 911 but still neat
With all of the snowy cold weather we are experiencing in Colorado, I thought of this old VW ad my Dad showed me.
Classic Beetle Snow Plow Driver Commercial - YouTube Pretty cool I think.

That's always been one of my favorite commercials. I remember it from when I was a kid. My father was (and still is) a VW dealer, so we gathered around whenever one of those old classic ads from the '60s came on.

Cool commercial.
I'm sure the man driving the snow plow couldn't wait to get to the snow plough so he could warm up after his VW drive. |

Beetles are good in snow. My only problem with that commercial, which is great in conception, is that there is zero fresh snow on the ground! Are people supposed to not notice that? How much harder would have been to wait for a heavy snowfall forecast and then shoot it in actual snow on ground?
Maybe they were afraid it would get stuck. There is about 1/2" of actual snow in the tracks and in front of the tires. I've seen this in many other *car in snow* commercials. They show a Jeep Cherokee or something powering through snow that you could drive in an old Cadillac with bald tires. SMH...

Snow plows (until more recently) never used heaters while plowing... too much chance of the windows fogging... dangerous. In fact they often had the windows open, so they could check clearances, no fogging, etc. Friend's dad drove one (he had a beetle, too. Dressed very, very warmly.
