Progressive

Yes, progressive Penguins, the first wood, the first bronze, now the Limestone, twice as big. Just finished it today. I would have put one of the Penguins sitting on the marble base in the picture but they are in stores, looking for buyers.
Now that I took a picture I don't like the tall head so tomorrow I will fix it. Right now it's about 21" tall but I will probably cut about an inch off. Yes, the beak is too fat but this limestone is fragile and if I make it thinner, it might be a Puffin.

Next week I am going to start a Pelican, a lot like the cards I sent to some people but much bigger, 14 to 16" tall and as a deep relief in white marble.

I think the bronze one is beautiful, Dean. Is it the lighting, or is the color lighter on the front of him? What sort of money would that bring?

Steve, the bronze is lighter in the front, it's the patina, I tried to make it more golden on the front. PM me.
Here is the Penguin on the marble base, like I said, these are in stores so I didn't have one for the group. I am going to make a bronze Penguin about three inches tall, just to complete the set.

with this it was power tools, grinders, and hand files, no sanding, that limestone is pretty coarse. Looking at the pictures again, I might try to thin the beak down, but it's scary.

My 9 year old daughter is crazy about penguins. She has a pretty good collection. Unfortunately I can't let her see these. Great job!

I had that piece of Tiger Wood, or Goncalo Alves, sitting around and didn't know what to do with it. I was at Toys R Us and saw a 3 inch plastic Penguin, I thought that wood would make a nice one. When I was finished with it I was showing it so someone that knows things and he asked what I was going to do with it. I said sell it, that's what I do, he said if I sold it someone would send it to Indonesia and in a month they would be in every Pier One in the states, I should make a bronze my self so I did. these are cast hollow, but still heavy. They are Bronze, not that imitation stuff you see a lot. resin bronze casting of something like that.
Then I made some replica Golden Eagle feathers in bronze and a few other things, I have posted a lot of it here.

She doesn't have e-mail. I am at the point where I have to scout ahead of her in the stores and distract her from seeing any penguins. I have another daughter who is just as bad except she is crazy about owls.

Serial? I didn't catch any humor. Might be because I had a few beers during the game.
Please elaborate on the humor I missed, or send return address.
