Yahoo Mail Connection Issues?

Anyone else here have trouble getting into their yahoo mail today? It has been down for me and my better half (different computers through home WiFi). All other websites, including yahoo home page load fine.

Thanks,

G

yahoo giving me trouble around 8 central time, including mail. seems ok now.

Yep - slow and problems. They forced out the new mail that no one likes .....

Z-man 02-04-2014 10:25 AM

Yep - same here.

I know there was some type of hacking/security breach of Yahoo mail servers about a week ago -- I wonder if today's issues has something to do with that...

I too have been locked out all morning. I'm not a fan of the new mail they forced down our throats.

Thanks guys. It is back to normal now. Strangely, my phone would still be able to access it. I just don't like to type on it ... I never graduated to >65 WPM like I can do on a keyboard.

Cheers,

Georg

I think the US Postal Service is shooting for diversity. Last year they were offering a line of USPS clothing, last week announced the possibility of going into banking, so maybe they purchased Yahoo?

Yeah, really not cool if you rely on your email for important things like business. I can do without the pelican thread reminder, but if I start missing out on business emails, I will start looking elsewhere for service.

Is there a paid email service that doesn't use your information for advertising?

Yes and very easily. First create and register a domain name. It does not necessarily have to be your name. No cost.

Next, take advantage of the lowest end godaddy website. I haven't checked lately but it used to be 3 years for $39. Create your basic dummy website using their site builder tools. That might take you 10 minutes..lol. You get their email services using your own created domain and set parameters. Best I've ever had and for me has been rock solid.

The price for the service and convenience at near $1.00 a month is laughable.

Yep Yahoo has been a major fail since their forced "upgrade" back in Nov. I thought it was just teething pains but the service has become pretty unreliable. Damn.

Down and miserable most of the day for me - I can log in but cannot do anything once I'm there - AND I pay for their PREMIUM service, which really feels like a great deal about now! grrrrr

I like the godaddy idea

LOL - and naturally, 5 seconds after I post the above, they are back up. sigh

Yahoo got hacked a few weeks ago -

Yahoo Hacked And How To Protect Your Passwords - Forbes

I had a 'junk' email account with Yahoo for years. A while back (1 year?), they got hacked and I got email from my own account. A few weeks ago it happened again. Yahoo is blaming it on a 3rd party. I done with Yahoo. Godaddy seems to be able to secure my information (fingers crossed).

So glad to see this. I had problems all day and thought it was my phone.
