Docs - Itchy bumps appear and disappear

So, I've been noticing itchy round bumps appear on my butt, arm, and leg. They appear, itch badly, but if I don't scratch it, they stop being itchy and then disappear after an hour or so.

But then, another will appear in another area in a few hours or the next day...They look like bug bites. (I'd take a picture, but the one on my elbow is disappearing rapidly).

They don't hurt at all. It is so weird.

No change in diet, activities and I still have just my one dog.

I realize it's not ideal to diagnose through the internet, but any guesses?

I thought this was a follow up thread on Joe Bob's Vegas venture.

Seriously, how's your stress level these days?

I am not a medical doctor but have experienced something similar.

In my early 20's I started to get a rash on the insides of my arms and legs. I went to the dermatologist and got what some doctors have referred to as the catch all diagnosis of atopic dermatitis.

Atopic eczema - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I couldn't stand to wear wool or anything itchy. Heat made it worse. Learned the triggers and the symptoms burned out for the most part by early 30's. Still get it if I get overheated though.

You may want to see a dermatologist or your doctor to get properly diagnosed.

Years ago my doc said it was "a viral syndrome." Whatever that was.

Those are too clustered.

Mine are just singular bumps that look like bites that appear as one or two, then disappear if I don't scratch it.

The one on the inside of my elbow that appeared just prior to my original post is already gone.

AFC-911 02-04-2014 01:08 PM

EDIT - I did just have two new ones crop up after my last post.

AFC-911 02-04-2014 01:32 PM

And those two have almost subsided.

fxeditor 02-04-2014 01:42 PM

I almost hate to say it but perhaps you have bed bugs?

KFC911 02-04-2014 01:47 PM

I don't want to cause you any undue alarm either, but I sure hope it isn't the prelude to that nasty "dinky dropus offus" that's been going around. Any changes in laundry detergent, soaps, lotions, etc.?

herp?

Don't wait! I recently did a bout of shingles and fortunately, got to the doc before it got too far along. He put me on an anit-viral and it was only insanely itchy for about 10 days. Didn't have to endure the agony some go through, especially if it gets too far along without treatment.

I had a rash on my stomach - thought at first it was bed bugs but it lasted to long. Turned out to be an alergic reaction to Prilosec - guess it happens if you have high cholesterol. Who would have thunk?

Look at alergic reactions first...

Well, I came home and had a massive outbreak.

I got marks on both arms, thighs and a couple on my side.

I haven't had anything that looked like that since Thanksgiving 2012 when I came home from a Best Western in Savannah.

The past several days, it was just a few marks localized on my butt (near the crack) and cheeks that took turns appearing.

Crap! I'm doing massive cleaning tonight / laundry and I'm calling the docs first thing in the morning.

Right now, I'm leaning towards bugs or allergy...And if it is bugs, the leading candidate is dust mites, I think.

Laneco 02-04-2014 06:24 PM

Sure sounds like hives... I'm allergic to anti-freeze and sulpha drugs. Both of them make me hive-up pretty quick. Mostly on the torso and on the joints of my extremities, knees, elbows, and finger joints especially.

Yup, sounds like allergies
