Bricks of 500 are selling for $ 23 - $29 these days at the big retailers.

Gander Mountain had Remington 500 Thunderbolts for $ 23 and 525 Golden HP's for $26.

I picked up the tubs of Rem 1400 Gold HP's for $ 70.

I have seen 500 bricks on-line for up to $80 ea and sell out quick.

I think I paid something like $15 for a Winchester 500 round wooden box of 22lr in the pre-panic days. $23 (.04 cents a round) is not bad but I still can't find too much 22lr around here (at least not in those quantities.)

I will probably switch to shooting 9mm for practice this year at around .26 cents a round.

Pre Nov-2008, .22lr was about $7 for 500. After the 2009 "panic" it was $15-17. Now it is $23-29?

Pre Nov-2008, WWB 9mm was $5 for 50 at Wally-world.

I can understand 50% inflation since 2008. But 100% or 400%?

Anyone buy 22lr ammo lately? I haven't seen it anywhere

Plenty of mid to high grade match ammo out there. Got 2 bricks of the Norma Tac22 for 108 delivered. Supposed to be rebranded RWS and very good for the price

Right now at the local Academy it is $6 for 100, and at the local Walmart it is $7 for 100.
The Academy usually has stock.
The Walmart usually does not.

ymmv.

.22 Ammo

I picked up 600 rds of CCI .22 Long ammo recently. Yes, Long, not Long Rifle. I have a Colt Lightning rifle in this chambering. Also, at least one of the local gun shops has probably 40-50,000 rounds of .22LR in stock. Priced about the same as above. Fortunately I had a good supply of LR and never had to get into the $80/brick stuff.

I've seen .22LR on a store shelf exactly twice in the last year. None in the past 6 months.
