Lifespan Of A Hot Tub
We have a Dimension One Spa we got in 1997. It is outside under our patio out of direct rain and sun. WE use it everyday. Only issue in 17 years is flow switches and the heater has gone out. It looks good and functions properly.Very happy with it.

When I had one, the blower crapped out, went to the spa store and they wanted like $150 for another, I left, and went to a vacuum cleaner place and they had a better one for a whole house vacuum for 1/2 that.
I recently went to Leslie's pool supply for a 2" diverter valve made of pvc, it was $75. Had a part number on the plastic bag which I googled and found for again about 1/2 that price.

Now in 993 land ...
|
Mine leaks like a sieve and I shut it down. Belongs to the landlord and not included in the lease. I would estimate it is 15 years ol. I would have to prop it on its side, hog out all the insulation and look for the leaks. Total PITA. Whoever built it did not have servicing in mind. I would do this work if it was my tub but don't feel inclined put in what's likely 20 h of work to fix the landlords tub, unless I'd know I get to stay here for 5 years. With yearly leases, you only know you are good for a max of 12 mos.

twenty years old. Sitting outside, new cover every 4 years, 1 pump and several heaters. Hard to get to now with all the snow around here

D1 is a pretty good quality spa but 15-20 yrs is probably expected life of the shell. If you are shopping for another, look at Hot Spring.

We just had a new one delivered today.
Old one lasted 15yrs. Had to move it and store it for 3weeks dry last summer when we were redoing the decking. I think that did it in. Gary |

I was told by the spa repair guy that you should never store an older spa dry for any period of time or let them freeze (in cold climes).

I have a 13 yr old D!. Amazing quality. Had to replace the touchpads and all of the small jets, bromine cooks them-have since switched to low chlorine/mineral sterilization.
