Well, here we go again
Snowing heavily in Raleigh and just like 2005 it is traffic gridlock. Like Atlanta recently. At least the schools are out this time. All the brine they put down seems to be useless. Then we get the ice storm later this evening.
In all my driving around the north, I've never seen the brine applications work, but they continue to buy it and spread it.
Coming home from work at 2:30, visibility was about a hundred yards or so; headed east, I couldn't see the stoplight at US 64 west and NC 751 until I was at where I think the left turn lane started. Roads are all snow at this point, and I presume they'll get worse when the precipitation changes to... what ever it changes into. Parts stores won't deliver in this, and I only have one truck in the shop right now, so I'm boned until Monday. Oh darn! :p
<cracks open a beer> |
Anybody ever tried sledding in a kayak? I believe I might make a go of it later this evening. Tomorrow, I'ma break out the old Flexible Flyer if the ice is thick enough. WooHoo! :D
Be safe everyone. I guess it's us next...up here in the colonies.
yep: Snow, sleet, than Rain along the Mid Coast of Maine tomorrow kind of glad that I bought
the ML350 last spring, it has come in handy this winter. Keep your head down New England! Dana..... |
It's snowing up in Herndon VA now.... "they" say we are in for a big one >> OK by me > It will be nice to do a walk-about the AO in some foot + deep snow... > I'm looking at a 5-day weekend.. >> Sweet!!
We are scheduled to get 12-18 in the middle of Va. I hate winter
It looks like we already have our first inch here in downtown DC.
I hate winter (here).
So...just how much snow and ice can a roof handle? I'm a bit worried about my shed and one section of my house.
