Yeah...

Plus:
- Comfortable on long trips, good chairs
- Good safety, good quality
- Very good engine, probably most advanced 4-cylinder in the world, very efficient and with heaps of torque at low revs, easy to tune
- Individual styling (that can be minus as well), "thinking mans BMW", huge trunk

Minus:
- Handling not up to pair with engine, lot's of torque steer.
- Automatic transmissions used to be weak links beacuse of strong engine and FWD (tranny had to be small to fit)

Anyway, i had many saabs and i like them. They are real highway cruisers and they are pretty peppy, especially with better exhaust and chip. Drive it first.

P.S.

My old tuned 9000 Turbo could walk away from Impreza Turbo on a highway...

I drove my parents 9-5 wagon (f*#k-me red with a champagne pin stripe that matches the alloys) to NYC and back (@ 2-1/2 hours) and was very impressed. Tight handling, good power, and great ride @ all highway speeds; 'stuck like glue at speeds. It's not as agile as their 9000, but is still competent.

Their complaints : blue smoke on every start up (a tech bulletin apparently says that's all right), and uncomfortable seats for shorter people (Mom's @ 5'3" and 95 lb.s). They're leaning toward the A6 for the next wagon.

I liked it. I'd buy one if I had any inkling toward owning a wagon (although the A6 Quattro is pretty slick).

My .02.
