Looks like a classic case of "phishing" to me. Or, a SPAM'er trying to validate your email address.

Do you even use AOL as your primary provider? if not, delete it. If you do, send a separate email to a published AOL customer service address and ask them to validate the request.

Any unsolicited email that asks you to click a link is highly suspect.

Right click to copy the link, paste it into a text editor to reveal the real address.

AOL still around? Huh, who woulda thunk it...

Just click on the link from AOL mail that says report as Spam and AOL will answer you back confirming that it is or is not but it certainly looks like a scam.

Same type of BS spam memo from the IRS, your bank, a district court, a death notice (which i recently got), and anything you can think of.
