Frankly, I don't think any of this is needed. Even though I agree with your position on this subject, I don't think you need to say stuff like this. Please refrain in the future. Thank you.

roads are for cars, not toys, she stopped her car in time, your car got squashed because you and your son were not in control of it not because she was driving too fast

there are plenty of off road places to play, you and your son's fault 100%

^^^^^^

This. You screwed up.

The $100 for a new toy is minor compared to what damage she could have done if she did not see your son, or anyone's child in the road, while speeding down the street. Chalk up the $100 to a learning experience, but chew her ass out over her driving in the neighborhood.

Please don't raise your son the way Danica was raised....Life is not all about "Who's at fault"

I only told him it wasn't his fault because I didn't want him to think I was mad at him.

I wasn't, he knows the risk of the car getting hit because we have discussed it every time we go out there. He knows not to run out into the street after his car because we talk about that every time we go outside to do it.

I love all you guys telling me 'I shouldn't be there' when I don't have enough appendages on my body to count how many times I have had a patrol car stop and have the officer hang out and watch us. Never once have I been instructed by them that I shouldn't be going it and that would most certainly be the perfect time to educate me on that. I've even asked and gotten shrugged shoulders.

I've reviewed the vehicle code (this isn't the first time I've been told by folks who think they know and nowhere that I can find are my activities prohibited.

Motor vehicle drivers are more responsible for the property damage they cause with their cars than I am prohibited from driving my RC cars on the street in front of my house. We were out there for nearly an hour today driving and only had 1 car go by.

My neighbor and I spoke today. She offered to pay for the car and I told her not to worry about it and asked her for a little more time if we end up in a similar situation in the future. I also told her I would communicate better to her (yell and what not to get her attention). I'm glad I didn't go over there pissed as I was as that would have made things bad.

My original post was about venting somewhere other than directly on my neighbor.

And for the record if my activities have ever damaged someone else's property on the street (it has occasionally happened) I have paid to have the damage repaired. My RC cars have never damaged anyone's property but I've made mistakes before in other ways.

Let it go Dood, you yourself said it was under her front bumper, so she didn't see it.

she was stopped.

Son Andretti JR then proceeds to pull out instead of keeping still.

Bad Karma Timing was all, Schmidt happens.

Now still later after you talked with her, you're still whining about the squished toy, she said she'd buy you a new one, and you're saying "Nah that's okay, but be more patient next time"???

you should have bigger things to worry about, and don't know why I really spent the time to write this reply, like talking to a rock.

Hey Mikester, I just got one of those RC helicopters with a camera on it. No one is going to run it over, but they might shoot it down. I have to get better at flying it and I'll post video.

The standard is what you're 'allowed to do', not what is 'prohibited'. You drive your RC car on the road at your risk. If there really is no traffic then YOU have very little risk, but it's not zero as you found out a few days ago.

So the issue has been resolved amicably. Very good. And good for you for not taking her up on her (unwarranted, IMO) offer.

I hope you told her to slow down.
