Sacred? Well, you'd think 'respect'. One great goalie for the Canucks but I believe its been talked about for at least a year. Should be great for the Panthers.

A great goalie doesn't guarantee a cup but an weak (or inconsistent) goalie guarantees no cup for you. Tim Thomas was a big part of the B's cup in `11.

Depends which Vanek they get. He's had good years and very bad years. This year has been the latter.
As a rental player production versus salary is not the main issue, it's who he pushes out of the line-up and how much he contributes.

Brodeur wants to be the #1 goalie and Schneider is too good to let that happen.
The Panthers would have loved to have Marty for one year right up until they got Luongo. Great way to get ticket buyers. Some people would pay to see Gretsky play again... After the deadline with no where to go they won't admit that Marty was on the table. I expect a retirement announcement coming after the season is over.
