My Valentine One is becoming useless... It's saved my countless $$ over the years but these days every Audi and fully loaded SUV has some sort of lane changing proximity radar and the Valentine goes nuts for half of my commute. Too much noise to signal ratio. Does anyone know if the updates do a better filtering of the automobile based signals? |

The worst I find is those Infiniti SUVs that set off the laser... *shrug* there are a lot of false hits on X-band too so I temporarily disabled it (directions on web site). Nobody uses X-band anymore for police radar, at least around here it's all Ka & laser. If it's a similar situation where you are you can disable the nuisance bands with the caveat that it won't go off in the off-chance that some cop is using an old style radar unit that day. Then again, I use the v1 as "additional info" only - not as my primary / only defense. Eyes and situational awareness save a lot more $$$. |

Contact Valentine, they can re-chip your unit to filter out a lot of the noise. Personally I'm more worried about the morons that let their cars do the driving for them. |

99% of Laser are false alarms. The rest are laser hits from instant on guns used by the PD. Fortunately the average cop is lazy and still use the always on Ka band. You can turn the Laser warnings off, the instruction manual will tell you how. But you run the risk of Laser getting you.....my V1 has saved me many times, disabling a function is the answer for me. I just live with it. If it does go off I always check my speed. False alarms help me keep my speed in check. |

What JB said. I do hate the Infiniti SUVs and their adaptive cruise, but I just live with the false alarms. The V1 still lets me know what is going on around me which is something that I appreciate even when I'm not speeding. |
