What's up with the Tile?
 

Has anybody seen the ad for the "Tile", ad states you can pre order at 19.95 each. Will make delivery in the spring. I have seen ads suggesting over 100,000 pre ordered. That's a wack of money, now I see ads for pre order for summer delivery.

Has anyone here ordered this product? Does anyone know of any of these that have hit the consumer?

The idea is brilliant but, does it work? Does it even exist?

I haven't ordered but would consider if it works.

The only thing that i don't like about it is the range of only 150ft. I was hoping I could put in my daughters car and see where she really is.. lol..

So everyone else knows what it is....

I think I read that you could post on a message board this link to the tile and other users could locate the said tile. A network of tile users finding each others stuff for them. Guess when I think about that it could become a way for others to get your stuff.

If this thing catches on, the inevitable security breach will be huge.

I love the sound of it. But I think I'll wait until Tile v2 comes out and get some better distance.

Great idea. Just being able to make it ring would be enough for me. I would attach it to my phone. Wait ...

But seriously, what's the pre-order BS? Is this common?

Kinda makes you wonder, spring sold out yet doesn't look like any have been shipped.

Trying to sell out summer so fall orders coming soon.

I pre-ordered some about 4? months ago. Haven't received an update in about 2 months. Should be coming soon I think. I'll follow up once I get them.

Hadnt heard of these. Looks pretty cool.

I think the clever thing about them, and what may make them successful, is they are cheap and not complicated.

For a glorified RFid tag, $15 apiece doesn't seem very cheap to me.

Edit: Especially considering they only last a year.

Interesting. I guess you need one on your iPhone to use someone else's iPhone to find your iphone.

I could have used one on my iPad that I left on a plane and never found. Since it was wi-fi only I never found it with icloud.

GTC could you explain your statement? Not technically equipped to understand what you mean.

Any updates if anyone received or is currently using. I would like some reviews if possible.

So it's been a while, nobody has responded that they have received there tile.

Anybody have any comments or was this just a very large scam.

Just curious cause i thought it was a great idea.

Saltillo is my fav. - I have my whole house tiled with it.....diagonally!

First thing I thought, kinda cool... but kinda pricy for what it is.

I presume you know there is a app for that? I also presume your daughter would just turn the app off (J/K no disrespect to your daughter).

I'm still waiting for mine. I went through my emails and I ordered them on Aug 2 of last year. It's been over a year waiting and I'm not even excited about them anymore. I got an email from them a month ago about confirming my shipping address. Nothing since. It seems like there are a few products just like the Tile already on the market now so I'll be interested to see what, if anything, sets the Tile apart. I'm sure I'll get excited again once they show up.

So you believe they will arrive?

Just saw your note upwardr-- I came on to post that I got an email today saying they have shipped. Should have them early next week.

So how many received the Tile? Been over a year haven't heard any feedback.

I was wondering the same. We could have really used one for keys and another for my iPod, but instead we put a bowl in the pantry for things like that and made ourselves use it. Cool idea though

I made some prototypes of the Tile about a year ago. Hopefully I'll be able to see a real one soon, is always neat to see the products in the flesh that I have prototyped.

I just saw an ad for the tile for sale for 25.00 each, but have still not heard from anyone who actually got theirs from pre - ordering them.

I was going to buy a few but it seemed like a scam. Now I still think it is but would like to hear otherwise.

I've had mine for about two months maybe. I have yet to mess around with them. Once I realized that the range is 150 feet, I kinda lost interest. They're sitting in my office.

I would try them, but they only accept credit card. Dont have any.
