Military Channel

So why would they change the name to the American Hero's channel???

First show i saw on it was about the Israeli special forces at Entebbe (sp?)

Next was several shows on the CIA training the Afghanis who later became Al Khada and then the CIA fighting them?

Please change the name back...

It is all part of Discovery's ongoing efforts to fragment and deteriorate the quality of their programming. When I was a little kid (in the glorious days before reality shows) used to watch Discovery all the time. Animals, Engineering, History, etc.

Military's slide began with the change from Discovery Wings.

Much like Speedvision > Speed

History > H1

They should probably rename A & E (Arts and Entertainment) to be the "Duck Dynasty" channel is that seems to be all they show. What a waste of bandwidth..

TLC = The Leering Channel

Would die without online streaming and a carefully aimed DVR...

I will say I do like the ID (Investigative Discovery) channel, lots of crime and forensic stuff on it. I suppose really good to take notes if you are a criminal :)

Yup. Discovery and TLC used to be about the only source of intelligent TV. Now their programming seems to cater to the whims of the welfare mom, sitting at home wanting something to watch between her "stories". Pure and utter trash. "The Learning Channel" showing Honey Boo Boo - YGBSM.

I deleted TLC from my DVR when I saw a commercial for that.

Come on now , what's wrong with TLC ? Where else are we gonna "learn" about dysfunctional , white trash families?

A930Rocket 03-14-2014 08:59 AM

I stopped watching it when the stopped showing military programs.

Were it not for sports, I wouldn't have cable.

I only need two channels, TCM and Food Network

BE911SC 03-14-2014 04:55 PM

Programs about history, science and learning cost money to make. Honey Boo-Boo is cheap to make, as are all the lockup raw shows, pawn, *****y housewives, shark tanks, etc. Cheap killed all the good channels.

For some reason, I am reminded of this:

I have to say, TCM is one of the few channels that has not changed and has stayed true to its original intent. Love TCM
