Anyone Own a Mid Years with a Sportomatic?
I have never seen one, or known anyone to own one. Anyone?

My 74 targa came with one from the factory but it was long gone before the car became mine. In fact the oil tank is the original and has the oil lines plugged off. That's the best I can do.

Like my sig says, I had a '78 SC with one. While not a mid-year, it was a fun car with the 3.0L.

Again not midyear, but the '79 core 3.0 for my 914 conversion is a sporto engine number.

I mean my 914 is getting the engine, the car and tranny is long gone.
If you look up the engine code it tells you if it originally had a sporto,

Ok. I'll bite. Why do you want one?
(I drive a tiptronic, not trolling, just curious.)

I had a VW bug with one; same principal.
Turned an already slow car into an even slower car. (And, once your friends find out they can disengage the clutch with gentle knee pressure on the shifter, the hijinx never stop.)

Don't you still have to shift the sporto, just no clutch. Seems like it would still be work in traffic mike.

Thanks.
It was a special order, euro delivery car so kind of a mix US and ROW. It's now trolling the streets of Houston so keep an eye open, you might see it sometime.
