Picked up a new cruiser...

Vista Cruiser! Found a one owner car....original owner is 96 years old. His son-in-law was selling it. Got it at a "can't pass it up" price. I've been looking off and on for about 2 years for an old wagon...something to cruise in, something for road trips.

Needs a few things done to it, but it's DD quality right now. Interior is really nice in it.

Couple of pics:

That is sweet! I've been eyeing a 65 Chevy Nova wagon on craigslist myself :--)

just a 330 V8 with 4 barrel. all stock. I didn't snag a pic underneath the hood....im gonna pick the car up either tomorrow or Tuesday. I went down to Burbank to go check it out tonight....drove it and checked it over and liked what I saw!

want to keep it mostly stock. might do some Torq-Thrusts so it looks something like this:

That's really cool, I've never seen anything like that on the road.

How big is the gas tank? :)

Embraer 03-16-2014 08:20 PM

BIG. ...but not big enough!

I helped a buddy restore one of those a few years back. If I remember right it had a 455 in it
it also had the glass roof in it.

Love it!

Very nice. I had a lot of oldsmobiles over the years. Mine ranged from 68-71. The 330 is a good engine and with a well tuned carb you can expect 15mpg. Yes, same as your average large SUV today.

For wheels I suggest you get the Olds Superstock1 which is period and make correct. These are reproduced now for little money:

The later Superstock2 wheel is nice too and usually painted body color:

Keep us posted. You can PM me any time if you have Olds specific questions. I know everything about hot-rodding these, engine swaps, 3 or 4 speed auto conversions, etc. etc. ;)

Great cruiser!

Agree with aigel on the wheel suggestions.

onewhippedpuppy 03-17-2014 03:31 AM

Awesome. I like the Torque Thrust suggestion, classic for any old muscle car.

futuresoptions 03-17-2014 03:34 AM

Very Cool!!!

Man, I can practically smell that old-car interior! What an awesome find.
