Lady w/ Face Eaten by Chimp Sues State
At the time this story broke I could not imagine a worse way to die than to be torn limb from limb by a crazed chimpanzee. She survived the attack and sued the owner/friend for 4 million. She is now seeking permission to sue the state of Connecticut for 150 million. I feel terribly for her but I don't think she should or will get 150 large for her injuries.

She's doing it because she says (or her lawyer says) it will be a deterrent from this kind of thing happening again.

How exactly is the state liable? Read the article and not buying their premise.
If she wins, does that mean the insurance company for the drunk guy that ran a stop sign and screwed up my back has to compensate me for my losses, pain and suffering? Rhetorical question, I know that in reality, they don't.
