Are the automakers spying on us?

From a Frod Exec at CES - he has apparently tried to undo it subsequently, but... Kinda reminded me of the RR engines on the MAS 777 - apparently these things report back all the time whether you like it or not. I am no conspiracy hack, but this alarms me - esp. for my kids' future!

"We know everyone who breaks the law, we know when you're doing it. We have GPS in your car, so we know what you're doing. By the way, we don't supply that data to anyone," he told attendees.
