how to remove auto correct?
 
where is it? My typing skill is subpar, to add the fact that I do not proof read becomes a cluster fook when I hit hit enter. Not to mention on my phone is a PITA when I text which I do not do very often.

Apple Icon upper left->System Preferences->Keyboard->Text tab in that window upper right uncheck Correct Spelling

OK so you are on Mountain Lion and not Mavericks?
