a win for the old guy
What can I say, being old sorta I don't have the greatest skills when it comes to these computers.
Yesterday, minding my business and checking my email, I got a message from sailing world, which I get regularly and they had some pictures to look at, I clicked on the tab and BAMM, infected a virus. It was a slick one it came up looking like windows with its colors and such. The title was Windows Anti Breach Patrol and to correct the problem just click on the tab activate ultimate protection. So I did and for a cool 99.00 the problem would go away  It's not like I spend a ton on my computers but this one is 3 yrs old and heck I would go out and buy a new one before I would pay these scam artists 99 bucks. Checked windows site on another computer and nothing on anti breach patrol, sooooo maybe I can fix this problem. Went into safe mode and re booted computer to a earlier date and magically the breach patrol is gone :D , I am elated. Thanks for reading and listening to a old guy with a computer problem that was fixed. |

1). Whack 'em in the nuts with the cane.
2). Hobble away cackling and grinning a single snaggeltooth. |
Now file a complaint with the FBI

But I'm resisting; I already belong to MOA. :) |
May want to run the microsoft safety scanner (search msert online) and use the Malicious Software Removal Tool.
I had an unremovable virus (would show up on boot after it was removed) on an XP box and just gave up and reformatted with Linux. |
