Ever been to an Anthony Robbins event?
One is coming to town. Pretty pricey but the reviews are amazing. Have you been? Have you ever listened to his tapes or CDs?
|
Now if I tell you that you suffer from delusions. You pay your analyst to reach the same conclusions..
|
I have not been to one of his events. I have heard him on TV and on you tube. I don't find him all that motivating myself. In my opinion there are far more motivating people to listen to and far more motivating events in the world. That is not to say if what he has to say works for you don't go because of my opinion.
cantdrv55 have you heard any of his tapes or CD's? |
I agree I don't find him that great. I'm a Ziglar fan, may he rest in peace. Saw him live once a few years before he passed. The master motivator for sure.
|
My only experience with Tony Robins is seeing his part in the movie "Shallow Hal".
|
Why?
|
Don't know him or his work well but "fraud" seems to be bubbling to the top of my head.

Yes saw banana hands with a few other speakers including Richard Branson. TR was a very good speaker and I did enjoy the whole thing, but I can't remember one thing that should have stuck with me.
It was a business event so not out of my pocket, I wouldn't have paid for it myself. |
Yes. Guessing it was around 1990. Management sent us as a freebie and Robbins was the lead in / promo to his other events, books, tapes, etc.. Personally, I've never been into these motivational 'concerts' but for zero investment and just a little time, still would get something good out of it.
As for Robbins, actually quite entertaining and good. I do recall him telling this story and it was not what I would have expected. He starts out about some guy and his issues, injects coke into his cock........ I'm not joking.... the looks on the audience faces, especially with the primped up professional woman, hilarious. Goes on and Mr. Goodtimes scores BIG at the clubs and has a stiffy lasting for days. Life's good and all that tail but after X amount of days, major bruising and complications take in all the way to gangrene. The end result, they had to remove it. LOL |
I was working on a hotel HVAC system at one of his events and I have seen him on TV.
He puts on a good show and if it works for you cool... not my cup of tea though. Reminds me of my wife going to a big crafting event... mind you my wife is REALLY into crafting, she has dozens of boxes of supplies. So I said sure, go, have a good time. She said people were hooting and hollering and dancing in the ailes... she didn't get it. |
Never been to he shows, years ago I read some of his books listen to some tapes they were beneficial in areas that related to staying focus on my goals at the time. I also like the Ziglar stuff. We all got to find what works for us.
All best Cantdrv55 |
No, who is he?

|
Is "South Park" wrong to learn from?
|
So to answer your question, I guess No, no one here so far has gone to one of his events. He must teach people to stay off car forums?? What does he sell?
|
Yes...

So, people pay others to motivate them? Seems silly...

Went to a TR ‘show’ about 15 or 20 years ago as a team building event through the company I worked for at the time. We all came back hyped to the nines which lasted for a couple days. Yes, they even bought several tape libraries which we all shared for another two weeks or so. I suppose it helps I don’t know. For me, not so much. I think the best motivation you can find is doing something you like and becoming really good at it, which is what Mr. Robbins is doing. He clearly loves what he is doing no doubt about it.
