Linda Petty, Rest in Peace

Lynda Petty, wife of Richard Petty, dies at 72 | Auto Racing | NewsObserver.com

No matter what you think of NASCAR, the passing of this widely-admired lady is a sad occurrence.

Condolences go out to "King Richard" and the entire Petty family.

(and I am truly sorry for the typo in the thread title)

I'm not sure what your "tobacco country" infers..."most" don't smoke around here and never have even in decades gone by.

Classy family all the way around imo. Kyle (we attended a basketball camp when we were both 12-13 years old) is a class act all the way too...growing up a superstar's son, in the media his whole life, and yet still "just a modest, regular guy" imo. "Victory Junction"...yep, Kyle's got my utmost respect too!

RIP "Mrs. Lynda"
