What to cook in Smoker or grill

Well the weather has finally improved.....
Going to fire up the patio tools Saturday.
Any have any suggestions? I don't feel like spending all day tending to a butt or brisket.

Pizza is quick and tasty!

One time I did up a london broil in the charcoal smoker in a couple hours, turned out great. Didn't cost very much ....

Some quick smokes (4h or less):

Sausages
Spatchcock chicken
Ribs
Lamb leg
Meatloaf (don't use too much smoke!)

TT and london broil are pretty close to the same thing, just different shaped cuts. I say go for it.

Smoked brats are great and only take and hour or so.

Smoked chicken wings are a favorite in my house. I use whole wings, not drummies and elbows.
I like to brine the wings over night then cook with salt and pepper. When ready, toss in your favorite sauce and serve.

Nice, the wing thing was something I have been considering.

I started to grill vegetables ahead of the meat and then keep warm in oven to serve together.

I marinate them for 30+ minutes in a balsamic dressing (that I quickly throw together myself)

Asparagus
Mushrooms
Peppers
Onions
Zucchini
etc.

This. Pizza on the grill is surprisingly amazing!

Try butterflied bbq or mesquite limed shrimp in a smoker...

North Coast Cab 04-04-2014 07:48 AM

Ok here's the line-up. I have a fairly good size crew coming over so I need some volume.
I have a plane to pack and rotate the smoker and grill to get it all done.

Whole Chicken - brined overnight, smoked
Tri Tip - salt & pepper, smoked, rested
Kielbasa - Little smoke then grilled
Whole Chicken Wings - rub and dip, smoked, basted and finished on grill

I will post progress tomorrow....
