Best of PPOT

I was reading through some old threads tonight, and found a few things that made me laugh right out loud. There are some funny, funny people here.

With that in mind, I think we should honor some of the better one-liners.

I'd like to start with nominating sammyg2, for this one:

Or "the Higgins".

The hairy arm thread made me laugh so hard that I cried.

There have been a lot of spray coffee moments here. Seriously funny stuff.

Jake, when you posted photos of your Samurai burning, I remember somebody posting something
along the lines of, "Do you have a permit for that bonfire, sonny?"

Zanac and son of Zanac. Then there was the gererator thread...

Let us not forget your classic "Not Haunted"

I think this post also contained the line "you forgot your truck" when addressing an off-duty fireman who had stumbled onto the scene.

The "higgins" is a favourite of mine. And another of yours, Jake, when you were I think mowing your lawn and sprayed dog poo onto your glasses. Yeah, I guess I still like poo jokes :D

Might not have been in PPOT, but wasn't there a lot of ruckus over a certain black Audi Wagon and R-gruppe. I dunno, maybe I dreamed it. Most likely in the 911 Tech Forum.

island911 04-03-2014 06:08 AM

 that^ and the E-Ram threads ... or cool-collar. (way-back tech-threads)

This one has potential:

NO, I wasn't alone.....and it was with a girl....my age.....and not a blowup doll...

The reason the Joe Bob 23 thread has so much potential is because his denials suggest that at other times he might have engaged in that activity in the backseat of his car when he was alone . . . or with a boy. . . or a girl who was under age . . . or was using a blowup doll. After the introductory qualifiers, the actual story has to be amazing to keep your attention.

Some of my favorite lines came from what I think is a deleted thread from the pre-off topic technical forum. Some guy in pre-internet bubble California was getting engaged to a woman who he assured us was not a gold digger, but he wanted to get her a four or six karat diamond so she would fit in with her friends. And he was going to buy her a flower shop for a business. The only problem was that he needed to sell one of his Porsches to afford it, and he wanted to know which one should go. He ended up selling what I remember as a 930. Predictably she kicked him out within months of the wedding, keeping both the ring and the flower shop.

The best of all time still is the Black Audi RGruppe photo picture thread. That was before Off Topic was formed and it was hilarious. I think it still exists on other web sites.

Where is Swang when you need him?

This quip by vash was pretty funny:

...oh well, she can now stay at home and pound chili dogs while watching the 49ers destroy her team.
