who is a blackbelt in Google kungfu? what is this?

my boss has some optical tool. he says it is a rangefinder from the 50's. seems older. he was really not sure how it worked.

i googled it and came up with nothing. i'd love to see how it works. didnt have any real time messing with it, and i didnt want to risk breaking it.

what is this???

(pic coming from my iphone)

what I found under images

Walz Rangefinder clip on Accessory attachment for a vintage camera. Aids in focusing. By looking through eyepiece and turning the thumb wheel until the two halves line up will give the corresponding distance on the wheel. This would slip into the accessory shoe on your camera, or can be hand held.

This item still seems to work, however may be a little out of adjustment doesn't line up a infinity distance. Lines up at all other distances, and pretty accurate.

That is neat. Looks like it is made out of bakelite.

I hate when logos become so stylized they are unreadable. Smash it out of principle.
