Need some advice on treating ED
 

I'm near 70 years old and have been on some meds for some time that have taken the lead outta my pencil. I can't really take myself off those meds but need to find something that will treat the resultant ED. I have tried 20 mg. doses of Cialis but it only works some of the time. I dunno if Viagra would do any better and I really doubt it because I read that they all basically work the same.

Not a fun problem to have and wondering if any of you guys have some good advice from experience.

Viagra is not the same as Cialis. Cialis is a slow release intended to work for up to 36 hours (weekend fun) whereas Viagra is a strong one hit punch. If you take a 100mg Viagra, your dead grandfather will get hard by default.

Yeah, I know what you mean but that's really not the problem...it's more a physiological issue with the meds I have to take..

What rattlesnak said. Cialis is a lightweight. If it packed as much of a punch as Viagra for 24-36 hours your sinuses would be so stopped up you couldn't breath.

If I make it to 70 I'll just be glad to be able to get from point A to point B under my own power.

Well, just cuz your body is 70 does not mean your mind is..or desires... ;) You just look in the mirror and wonder what happened ???

There are five oral drugs approved by the FDA to treat erectile dysfunction: Cialis, Levitra, Staxyn, Stendra, and Viagra.

Cialis requires stimulation of some sort. Viagra @100mg or even@50 all you need to do is look at it and it's as hard as chinese algebra. All of them have bad side effects. Cialis will give you a wicked back ache 3 days after taking it, Viagra is the worst, stuffed up sinus, headache, upset stomach. They have some room for improvement.

Have you had your doc check your testosterone level? If not, might be worth a try.

I'm giving myself that monthly Rx'd by my Doc. It does give you a week or so of intense Libido and helps some with my osteoporosis... That week or so I mentioned is the only time that Cialis will work for me...

The adverse effect of "low back ache/pain" of the ED medications are probably more of a functional ache/pain after the anatomical action of catching a hump.
You haven't used those muscles in a while, nor are they utilized during ADL's.

I'm in my 50's and haven't had ED yet, but as with us all we're not getting younger and it's probably a matter of time time we need a little boost. No biggie.

But it does remind me of one of my favorite jokes:


A son was arguing with his senior father one day about the possibility of moving to a home.
The elderly father was dead against it, but the son was persuasive. he talked the father into trying it for one weekend.

The older man was in the home for only a few hours, when a young good looking nurse started giving him as sponge back, and he because erect!

the son was relieved.

Later that evening the father was walking down the hall when he tripped over the gown he was wearing and fell onto all fours. Immediately a very large orderly named Jefferson pounced on the old man and had his way with him.

Afterward, he called his son and in tears said get me out of here, I hate it here, this place is horrible.
The son said hold on now dad, an hour ago you loved that place!

Someone I know cuts his 100mg Viagra in half and it gives me ......errr.....I mean him.... a lethal weapon.

100s cost about the same as 50s. 50 is PLENTY.

So buy the hundies and cut them in half and save 50 %.

Doc told a friend of mine, seriously, all he needed to solve this problem was a girl friend. His wife was not amused. But that suggests a psychological aspect, no?

Sixty-six years old here and YES despite my glorious youthful past .............IT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU!:eek: The number of advertisements for the ED problem should be an indicator that a great number of men suffer (I hate that) from ED. Luckily, if your libido is still in full ramp, these penal stiffeners have come at the right time!

So, as Colonel Happy was slowly loosing his ability to stand at attention, the family Doc said try both, Cialis and Viagara that is and see what works. I can attest as others here that Viagara (50 mg) will do the trick, but will come on you like a baseball bat to the head!! You have to use your instrument within an hour of taking viagara and it helps not to have a fatty meal hours before taking it as this will have an affect in absorption. Stick with the guidelines. Know that you will feel heavy headed...........

Cialis on the other hand overall is pricier (you need at least 5 mg per day) and I find that although mostly effective, viagara offers more adventure, being that you KNOW what is happening instantly. Its like the cartoon character who takes a drink of a mystery fluid, has smoke coming out of all holes in his head and flies down the road on fire at 100 mph. Yep, thats viagara.

So to cure your ED problem, you have several options, but its apparent that the consensus here is that viagara does work. The medical patent on viagara is soon to expire and we should see the price of a 100 mg (cut them in half and save $$$$) as example come down. At $25 a pop, sex better be good.:D

Did anyone mention that being in good overall physical condition helps? Smoking and alcohol tend to exacerbate ED problems.

They make a great sublingual version of Viagra in India. You get results in minutes. It's not too hard to get here, though it's not strictly legal.

^^^This, as we get older (I'm 57) we tend to let our health slip (Cholesterol, high BP, type 2 diabetes, weight) all of which inhibit the little soldier from standing at attention.

Before taking on all the bad side effects of the ED drugs maybe consider a change in lifestyle? Diet and exercise?

At 71 years of age, I feel your pain. First time I took a 50mg Viagra I had to run to the bathroom real bad. On the way, I tripped and damn near pole vaulted out the bathroom window!
