I thought I read that he was being sent here to CA (Newport even) for "treatment". Guess not.

This got me thinking... If the boy isn't criminally responsible because his parents spoiled him, doesn't that make his parents criminally responsible?

Having had some experience with this, $800 a day is about right for a facility for hard core addicts that provides a tightly structured environment, medical professional on staff at all times, and food prepared. No way this kid's addiction has him that bad off. More typical for drunk asswipes who are caught misbehaving once or twice are programs that cost half that much (make your own meals, nurse on call, live in sort of a dorm where everyone is in a 12 step program). Taxpayers are getting hosed if this kid is getting appropriate treatment and it is costing that much.

The whole story / episode disgusts me.
I hope the pending civil suits take them for every penny. And that would still not be justice.
