"Disease" has creep into my computer...anyone good with computers
A few months back, after visiting Bing.com, an icon has incessantly popped up on the left side of screen a few days later offering: RELATED SEARCHES
Now regardless of which search engine I use between Firefox, or Internet Explorer, from the left...right...and bottom of screen, endless sales pop-ups which block the screen ad nasueum from horoscopes to little roaches crawling around. I've went to the add-ons/manage add-ons and neutralized or disabled everything I could think of to stop this, and to the pop-up blockers...run virus scans...can't seem to stop/block or delete this endless shyte. I also don't open strange e-mails or spam as well. I'm an electrical engineer, not a programer or IT guy. I've never been into computers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.:D |
time to celebrate the every 2 or 3 year holiday ... new copy of windows day.

see if you have a restore point prior to the time you noticed the pop ups, may work ymmv

Go into the uninstall program.....look for added software and delete. Delete Bing as well, it sucks....click on date installed. That narrows down the adware you have sucked up the vacuum pipe.

I just got a new laptop (with windows 7, if you please) and the same thing happened to me shortly after my initial start up. I went to download Firefox and wasn't paying close attention. My download was not from Mozilla's site and I immediately started to get lots of ads, much like the OP. Went to the uninstall feature, scanned for the recent downloads/installs, and found an adware program of some type. Uninstalled it, and haven't had a problem since. |
