Finished My Winter Project......................

Bought this in rough shape last November and have been working on it almost non stop. Just finished and ready for market!

1972 Chevy C-10/Custom 1 repaint in factory color Tangier orange and Birch white. Period correct Z-28 'look' engine but otherwise just as it would have looked then when near new. Enjoy!

3 on the tree? What are you asking for it?

livi 04-27-2014 08:29 AM

Brilliant! Such a perfect color for that automobile.

onewhippedpuppy 04-27-2014 08:37 AM

Nice! My favorite classic pickup.

porsche4life 04-27-2014 08:47 AM

Awesome! Mind me asking what you'll be asking for it?

Hi, thanks all - $10.5k going on EBay tonight

billybek 04-27-2014 12:17 PM

Looks great! My favorite GM/Chev truck years too.

Joe Bob better jump on that! No jumping over the centre console and a big bench seat!

Baz 04-27-2014 01:13 PM

NICE longhood! ;)

Very, very nice. Brings back a lot of memories.

Best of luck on the sale.

vonsmog 04-27-2014 02:56 PM

Looks great, but you must have more than $10k into it! I hope it sells for at least double of what you have into it. I know you are working for free if you do sell it for double your starting price! Good luck with the sale.

Hi, thanks all for the positive comments!! The market is a little down on these trucks currently and at that number I'll be making some profit. Hope the auction goes higher! I actually have more time and money invested than I had planned but it's hard to hit a home run with every 'project'

I've got a '68 sitting in the garage. The plan is to swap in a 5.3 & overdrive tranny and keep it for a while. Sell the "new" truck now that it has 200,000+ miles.
Already have the tranny and parts for disc brake conversion. As soon as I acquire the right engine, the tools will come out.

I don't plan on making it as nice as yours, as I'm going to continue using it as a truck- Plenty of hauling stuff, plenty of towing stuff.

Should be fun.....

You know the best part of this generation of 1/2 ton GM Trucks is the rear long trailing arm / coil spring suspension. They really ride and drive more like car of that period than a 'truck'. When setup with disc brakes a decent power plant and everything sorted they are a pleasure to tool around.

I bought something similar last year but it turned out that there was a crack in the frame. The guy that sold it to me knew about it but funny enough, refunded my money.

I love your truck...so cool.

The truck I bought is a 3/4 ton, but still has the long arm / coil suspension.

(un)Interesting tidbit:
The Chevy trucks of this vintage had coil springs as standard, with rear leafs as an option.
The GMC trucks had leaf springs as standard, and coils as an option.

I bought the '68 from the son of the original owner. Had paperwork going back to day one.
Never wrecked, drove it 150 miles home.

Drives fine now, but can't wait for a contemporary engine, tranny and disc brakes.
