Crap, I have an aunt and cousins in that are so I'll have to see if they're alright!

Sorry to hear that. My heart goes out to all those affected.

onewhippedpuppy 04-27-2014 06:20 PM

Wow, glad to hear you're ok. It's been a mild tornado season thus far, but it only takes one hitting a populated area to get really nasty.

R K T 04-27-2014 06:25 PM

Thanks, we're OK.....over two hours on the ground, now in north west Arkansas. Extensive search and rescue going on throughout the state.

june82000 04-27-2014 06:32 PM

Glad you're ok and thanks for posting this. Just talked to my dad in Shreveport and his sister lives 4 miles from there (Mayflower?) and they are ok, just no power. This is such a devastating event that comes out of nowhere, the only thing I don't miss about that part of the country.

Very glad to hear that. Mayflower got hit bad.....that first pic was taken in mayflower!

A930Rocket 04-27-2014 07:44 PM

What devastation. Glad you're ok and I hope for the best for others.

Sun coming up right now and they are showing the damage on local tv. At least 16 dead as of now but they expect that number to rise when search and rescue are able to really see what happened.

123 mph wind reported and we probably had 70+ mph here.

Tornadoes DO NOT just come out of nowhere. They published in our local newspaper two days before the storm arrived that the storm was coming and the the time of day they would arrive. The TV weather-man was warning about it for over a week!

We watched the storm track all the way from out near Hawaii. We watched it pass through Arizona on the way here. It started building and got mean east of us. To not know the storm is coming requires one to deliberately not pay any attention to the weather.

I fell very sorry for all that lost lives and homes across the country. I heard there were over 100 tornadoes across the country.

hahahahaha. Yes, its my mad typing skills.

Did you retired out there or what?

R K T 04-28-2014 08:04 AM

Sort of.

When my Dad passed away, my Mom came to live with us. She was originally from Hot Springs AR and we decided to get out of SoCal and move to AR so she could be with the family for the last part of her life. She had a couple heart attacks in Cal and the Dr told us it was "just a matter of time" and if we were going to move, do it now. She lived 7 years after hearing the Dr say that.
We are ready to leave AR. Not just because of Tornadoes. Lots of reasons. Wifey is waiting for an opening to come up in her company in another city/state and will transfer asap.

I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say.
